our roots...

Indigo Mountain was born from a conviction: that the mountains are a privileged place of encounter with God.

Such experiences have deep roots. For many years, the Brothers and Sisters of St John have organised mountain and faith journeys for young adults and families across different countries, recognising these times as opportunities for growth in every dimension of life. Drawing from this living tradition, Indigo Mountain was created in 2023 and endorsed in 2025 as the outdoor apostolate of the European Province of the Brothers of St John, bringing this heritage into a unified mission.

Enriched by this experience, our trips invite young adults to step away from the ordinary, to be challenged both physically and interiorly, and to rediscover who they are before God.

We believe that in the silence, beauty, and demands of the mountains, minds and hearts open more readily—to prayer, to truth, and to authentic human connection.

Indigo Mountain

Indigo Mountain is an outdoors apostolate for young adults, from the European province of the Brothers of St John. The treks and climbs are organised and led by brothers and sisters of St John, and by lay co-workers.
