Winter Survival

3-Day snow shoe trek in the Pormenaz region, near Chamonix

26th - 2nd March 2026

This will be a survival trek through the mountains in the region of Pormenaz, near Chamonix (or other region if weather is bad there). Thursday night and Sunday night we'll stay in a simple hut. Friday and Saturday nights we'll be sleeping in self-made snow shelters or igloos, learning survival skills to do with warmth, challenging our fears and discovering new strengths.
It will also be a lot of fun as winter treks involve plenty of snow, the wonderful atmosphere of forest and mountains in the quiet winter, and the buzz that comes from covering mountainous ground on foot.

We'll have time for experiencing nature and seeking together about the virtue of fortitude and its different sub-virtues of perseverance, righteous anger, and hope. We'll also think about God's silent but real presence in our lives His guidance.

This trek is open to any man aged 18-30, interested in experiencing nature and pursuing understanding.

The cost is €50 excl. travel to and from Geneva airport. Please book your own flights.
Please arrive Thursday 26th February (preferably afternoon or evening) at Geneva airport or at Servoz (Haute Savoie) or St Gervais-Le Fayet train stations, and plan to leave on Monday 2nd March. We'll be hiking from Friday morning to Sunday evening. The group size will be around 10 people.
